That was a bit of a news item last week, Pat. That’s a photo of Ingrid Steeger in her hay day, a German version of a sexier version of Goldie Hawn (way back in those old TV days of the 60s). She’s come upon hard times and is living on that notorious “Hartz IV” welfare money–395 euros a month.
PS: When they say “just” 395 euros a month here, remember that it’s per person and they’re not including the rent and other costs which are also being paid. Some claim that some Hartz IV people are satisfied with that and have no intention of ever looking for work because low paying jobs don’t offer them all that much more. That’s what some folks say, mind you, not me. I’m just quoating folks and stuff.
