  1. Don’t matter none. Purty is purty. I’ve always liked her (don’t agree with much of anything she has to say, though – on the political side). She’s not a phoney, which is rare in politics. As for her looks… She, for me, is one of these women who clearly don’t “do” make-up or understand fashion or any of that stuff but can’t help being really attractive anyway.

  2. Her name is Katrin Göring-Eckardt.

She and a prominent male colleague just got selected (by a Green party grass roots vote) to lead the party in next year’s federal election drive.

Which is… cool. Because it surprised and slamed the plans of her ambitious female colleague Claudia “The Clown Lady” Roth (you guessed it, who I clearly don’t like).

    • Claudia Roth really is off of her rocker. Coocoo for cocoa puffs, to be more precise… (http://youtu.be/l3q-zwvqBq8)

She’s Bavarian. Just imagine these wessies who, lacking any other path to political power with the reasonable parties, attached themselves onto Bündnis 90 by tearing apart the old Green party. It basically co-opted a REAL grass-roots movement that emerged from the left-most part of the opposition to the regine in the DDR, which oddly enough closely matched the regime in many of their social views.

It’s actually a slightly creepy brew of freedom and demanding a new-and-different kind of leftist oligarchy.

  3. Yeah. I already got her, AK (you got to up pretty early in the morning…)

And you got that right about Claudia Roth, Joe. She even freaks the Greens out (that’s why she only got 25 percent of that vote even though she’s their party boss).

But now, due to the resulting “Candystorm” by the Greens to get her to stay after they hurt her feelings, she won’t be resigning in anger and disgrace after all. She’s just that good, I guess.

    • The world has reached “peak irony”. Apparently, the generation of the baby boom has used it all up: the tiny, loony, pointless green party is in a leadership fight because they though they should be nice all along to Clown Lady despite the membership clearly wanting her out.

Now this pathetic soap opera is going to infect the entire body politic because of the loony practice of coalition-building.
