DSK, IMF, CSI-Yay-Yay

(DSK stands for Dominique Strauss-Kahn) And don’t forget about the DNA, USA and the AL-I-BI part now either.

As Die Welt rightly puts it, this is like something out of a CSI: New York episode. Only much more poorly done. A bit more surreal though, perhaps.

Surreal is actually French, by the way. It means having the disorienting, hallucinatory quality of a dream and what on God’s green earth could you have possibly been thinking, buddy?

This is just too weird. And no, I haven’t found a German connection here yet.

Der bislang aussichtsreiche Präsidentschaftsanwärter der französischen Sozialisten sah aus, als sei er durch einen dummen Zufall in eine Folge von „CSI: New York“ hineingeraten.

PS: Thanks for that link, A.K.

  1. No, it’s more like “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit”, probably because it really IS being investigated by the NYPD Special Victims Unit

As to the usual crop of Europeans who first wanted unequal law to be applied to DSK, they have settled into the comfortable belief that he’s being set up by the CIA. How do they know this?: “because everyone know it!”

Why the CIA would be after him I don’t know. The IMF does virtually nothing for the US, and apart from interventions (basically imposing severe austerity) in Mexico, Argentina, Indonesia, and Thailand in the 90’s, they have done little apart from lend to European states bankrupted by welfare for the past half century.

Not that it’s any great loss. DSK isn’t really an economist anyway, and is only there because the Socialists wanted someone from their orbit in a “globally relevant position” to prop up their non-existent credibility. They should stick to what their good at: living in geodesic domes, raising chickens in their back yards, and taxing civilization into gothic-era submissiveness.

    • I love a good satire of BHL, but he’s actually considered a conservative.

I wonder if he’s into urban rooftop beekeeping?
Or perhaps spending languid saturdays renting a zipcar to go to whole foods for organic unhomogenized fair trade goat milk and free-range-19-grain whole wheat afghan loaves (or some such piffle). Followed by going home to a hip, new, urbane condo to tell oneself that one is not a “consumerist”.

Wait a minute – he lives in paris. There aren’t that many choices….
