Germans concerned about American middle class

Sort of. I mean like, who else will keep buying their exports even though they can’t afford to?

“While America’s super-rich congratulate themselves on donating billions to charity, the rest of the country is worse off than ever.”

PS: The word “Obama” cannot be found in this article.

  1. You have to admire the “half-intelligent” lefty-liberal-marxistoid journalists of Germany:they never stop hoping. It seems to me that I’ve been reading this same article for at least the last 40 years: the decline and imminent demise of America (ach, Entschuldigung, US-Amerika), the end of the American Dream (strange that they don’t write “der US-amerikanische Traum”)and thus the the long-awaited and “heiß ersehnte” disapperance of the American-Way-of-Life. No more “Land der unbegrenzten Möglichkeiten”–which as far as the formulation is concerned, is a German invention. I’m sure I read this article in the early 70’s (Vietnam), in 1981-82 (the Reagan recession),in 2001 (the high tech bust), and throughout the Bush administration. I think they keep it their “Scheiß-Amis” folder ready to be called up at a moment’s notice. What is insanity? “Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.”
