Thanks once again, Germany!

We couldn’t have done it without you. But we did anyway.

“The Obama administration and America’s allies have won an open-ended endorsement from the United Nations for military action in Libya.”

“The administration deserves credit for getting this resolution passed with such strong support,” said a joint statement from Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., John McCain, R-Ariz., and Joe Lieberman, I-Conn.

Five nations abstained from the vote, one of them being America’s ally you-know-wer (who).

Bei der Abstimmung enthielten sich die Vetomächte Russland, China sowie Indien, Brasilien und auch Deutschland (way down on the bottom of the article).

  1. Like Senator Obama did, Deutschland here votes “not present.”

I liked Spiegel’s quip: Kein Ja, kein Nein

  2. Yeah Jeffrey, the gymnastics they pull off (or think they’re pulling off) are amazing, aren’t they? They did “the Schroeder” again (elections are coming up), only this time I believe that a number of Germans actually turned red in the face. Not that that matters. They’ll feel much better about themselves again tomorrow.

Germany in the Security Council, voting along with China and Russia. Talk about a dream team.

  3. Remember Chirac’s “war is always failure”? Wow, what a change a few years and a new administration makes. Zose French peelotes are targeting Monsieur Khadaffi’s tanks!

China, Germany, and Russia as a “dream team”? Well, I’ll admit that it’s TRAUMatic.
