Normally outraged at the very thought of American Alleingänge (solo runs), concerned Spiegel journalists and countless German Gutmenschen (starry-eyed idealist types) everywhere are clearly upset that President Obama is now backpedaling as fast as he can at the very thought of leading the way to establish a no-fly zone in Libya.
Gaddafi is not rolling over and dying as quickly as expected and this is turning into yet another embarassment for Germany and the rest of the EU because if this keeps up, sooner or later these countries may be forced to actually “do something” themselves and this, as we all know, is not something that they are prepared to do.
Hey, Germany. He’s your President. Too, I mean.
Obama schreckt vor Libyen-Alleingang zurück.

And now Hermann has to deal with that damned little dude Sarkozy, who is acting like he has balls or something. Shite! He might actually pull other You-rows (No, you row, I’ll sit here on my arse) into, you know, doing something.

The Eurof*s won’t do anything that might cost money or inconvenience them in the slightest. Go here and read it carefully:

Buried in the story above is this little nugget. I knew the Eurof*s hadn’t actually imposed sanctions yet; they had just pompously determined the need to do so. But this flattens me:
>As Col. Gaddafi’s forces stepped rocket attacks on rebels, the EU agreed new sanctions that would “cut off the tap” of oil revenues, income worth £500 million to his regime over the last three weeks.
Try and wrap your head around that. Think about all that we’ve seen and heard for the past better part of a month. During all that time, the oil continued to flow serenely to EU nations, and their money continued to flow serenely in the other direction. To the tune of HALF A BILLION F*G DOLLARS. To pay mercenaries. To shop for ordnance. To buy off tribal leaders.
They nicker and bicker and simper and talk about oh gee, what should we do and how should we do it, when they could shut that regime down in several days if they were willing to undergo a little temporary economic dislocation. But oh, that just can’t be countenanced. Not in p*y-assed postmodern Europe. Now they say they aren’t going to pay Laffy any more money. But one assumes the oil will keep flowing, to be paid for at some future date to some future regime… which is fine in itself… but until I hear about the sanctions actually being put INTO place, I decline to believe the slippery posing m*s have actually done anything. They’re just.. talking about what they SHOULD do, what they WILL do. And where are the prancing mobs in European streets screaming in righteous rage and waving placards that shout NO BLOOD FOR OIL in allcaps? Absent. Not there. No one cares. No one.
F*s.
