Or need to have two, I should say.
Nearly 3 million Germans or over 9 percent of those working full-time are now working part-time as well.
Nope, it’s not because Germans are particularly fleißig (hardworking). This German job wonder that everybody envies so much over here, like everything else in life, comes with a price. The income from many of these wunderjobs is simply no longer enough to get by on. Kein Auskommen mit dem Einkommen (can’t make out with what comes in), or something like that.
Ist es pure Not oder der Wunsch, sich mehr leisten zu können?

Too bad Walmart pulled out of Germany. Those part-time Walmart greeters could have employed many old-folks. Also, off subject, an Air Bus crashed today in Alabama. No urgent headlines in Der Speigel. Der Spiegel likes to post big headlines when a U.S. built Boeing crashes.
Summer surprise! Now here is a bunch of job openings !

As I mentioned, Spiegel on line has a new article stating that the Boeing Dreamliner is a disaster. Some Spiegel readers are linking the Dreamliner to the NSA scandal. Yet there is still no mention of the Air Bus that crashed yesterday in Alabama. Luckily the Air Bus belonged to UPS: only lost packages spread around the Alabama countryside. However, both the pilot and the co-pilot were killed. Witnesses believe that the engines stalled and caught fire in mid air.
