But it ain’t nothing new, folks.
More than half of Germans (53 percent) said they did not believe the United States government respects the personal freedoms of its people, according to a Pew Research Center report published on Tuesday.
“The U.S. receives largely positive reviews among many of its key NATO allies. About two-in-three Canadians have a favorable opinion, as do large majorities in Italy, Poland, France, the UK and Spain. The outlier is Germany.”

Why should they? The Americans ain´t so impressed with their government either: “In a survey conducted in February 2014, 24% said they trust the government in Washington always or most of the time.” (http://www.people-press.org/2014/11/13/public-trust-in-government/) 🙂
That really saddens me. Particularly so because this fundamental lack of trust is, for me, “un-American.” For Germans, however, it is the most natural thing in the world.
