Secret European Army Being Planned By The Same Folks Who Brought Us The Euro And Refugee Crises

So like what force in the universe could possibly stand in its way? Or even want to. Honey, where’s our white flag?

Army

British Brexit campaigners have been boosted with news from Berlin that Germany is once more pushing for an EU army encompassing all 28 member states with a joint HQ and shared military planning.

Along with judicial, tax and immigration issues, a Euro army has for long been one of the main irritants of anti-EU campaigners.

“German security policy has relevance — also for beyond our country. Germany is willing to join early, decisively and substantially as a driving force in international debates … to take responsibility and assume leadership.”

  1. Donald Trump is campaigning here and is calling the Europeans dead beats when it comes to the Europeans spending on their collective defense. He points out specifically that Germany spends approximately 1% if its GDP on the Bundeswehr, where their pledge to NATO is 2%. Other NATO countries seriously lag on this same pledge. The U.S. is presently spending 4% in comparison. Trump promises that he will start charging fees for basing troops and equipment in Europe.

  2. Trump says a lot of things, Murph. I’m still digesting the one about building the wall and having Mexico pay for it. I just can’t believe this is happening. I’ve never been what you would call a staunch Republican or anything but I’m very, very saddened by the Republican Party’s untimely passing. I really think it still had a very important job to do but that’s all over now. This means, of course, that we will ONLY have Obamas and empty pant suit lady hucksters as presidents from here on out. At least it does for me. I don’t think something even remotely resembling the old “grown-up” Republican Party will appear again in my lifetime. I’ll be voting for a Libertarian guy called Gary Johnson.

  3. I wouldn’t call them deadbeats. I’d call them free-riding parasites.

The not-even-making-the-measliest-pledge-ever thing has been line-item number one in NATO’s annual report for 20 years running.

They could start by making a 4 year enlistment a requirement for male non-citizens o\f a military age who arrived as refugees.

  4. It’s an alibi army kind of thing, guys (otherwise selling those expensive weapons systems just wouldn’t look right). Somebody ought to change this but nobody ever will.
