I honestly had no idea that Germans were that interesting to spy on, but German journalists certainly seem to think they are these days.
Word is that a new and thoroughly evil spying facility is being built in Wiesbaden which will be a base for US intelligence operatives from the NSA itself.
Too bad those party poopers over at there Germany’s BND are already denying it. Not that that matters.

Whoever thought that the NSA was going to build a facility in Wiesbaden clearly pulled it out of their cornhole. The NSA is partnered with the UK equivalent, and even that hardly seems necessary in the age of satellites and the inter-tubes. The NSA doesn’t need anything in Germany. Besides, in case that joker has been missing the theme, US military assets have been moving out to Germany to the east.
There is an explanation for the F-R writer’s conclusion: the perceived self-importance of Germans of his ilk, and the known presence of a gullible population with a form of envy long ago identified by Sigmund Freud.
I’m sorry, Germany, you just don’t matter than much to the rest of the world, at least as far as the risk to global security is concerned, The only vehicles that are expected to charge through the Fulda gap are retirees’ campers.
