Americans still see Germany idealistically as the country that where everybody wears Lederhosen and gets s-face atOktoberfest. A country that makes quality premium cars. Americans also see Germany’s 1 million new immigrants as problematic. Then again, there are people in America that are strongly opposed to Trump building a wall to keep MS 13 and drugs out of their own country. To answer your question, Americans still see Germany through the past.
