Political Assault in Brussels: Young Man Attacked for Wearing Trump Cap – On the night of Thursday, July 3rd, a young German citizen was assaulted in Place du Luxembourg in Brussels, just steps from the European Parliament. The incident occurred at the well-known bar ’The Network,’ a popular gathering spot for EU officials, parliamentary assistants, and visitors.

According to the testimony of the 24-year-old victim, the incident began when a woman approached him and snatched a white baseball cap with the slogan “Make America Great Again,” associated with former U.S. President Donald Trump. After calling him a “racist,” three men, reportedly of North African origin, joined in, allegedly insulting and physically attacking him, leaving him with multiple bruises, facial injuries, and a head wound that required several stitches.

Berlin bans red triangle symbol used by Hamas to mark targets – Berlin has banned the inverted red triangle symbol due to its use by Hamas and their supporters to mark enemy targets in videos and graffiti.

The motion passed in the state senate said the scarlet arrow icon represents an immediate threat to Jews and to people committed to the freedom and security of Israel and should be banned at protests and in the context of the Middle East conflict.

The symbol has been used to target pro-Israel academics and politicians, including Kai Wegner, the Berlin mayor who ordered the eviction of pro-Palestine protesters from the city’s Free University by police.

“Kai will pay” was graffitied on the wall of a university under a red triangle.

German authorities are starting to piece together exactly what happened in Hanau, when a gunman opened fire on two shisha bars.

At least nine people died in the attack which federal prosecutors are treating as an act of terrorism.

Turkish authorities say a number of those killed were of Turkish origin. Chancellor Angela Merkel said there are signs the shooter had racist motives.

Streaming live from a camera mounted on his helmet, a gunman pushed on the doors of a synagogue, fired several shots at a lock on the door, stuck an explosive in a door jam and lit it.

But he couldn’t get in.

The fact that the door held likely spared the lives of the dozens of people inside the synagogue on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

Police say the gunman killed two people Wednesday in the eastern German town of Halle — one directly outside the synagogue, and one at a nearby kebab shop. Police have arrested the suspected gunman.

Controversial Palestinian rappers to perform at Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate – Known for their anti-Israel lyrics, Palestinian rappers Shadi Al-Bourini and Shadi Al-Najjar will headline a so-called “solidarity rally” held by Palestinian groups that the Israeli ambassador to Germany wants banned.

Palestinian rappers Shadi Al-Bourini and Shadi Al-Najjar are at the center of the controversy, with Berlin daily newspaper, the Tagespiegel, reporting that the duo released the song “Strike a Blow at Tel Aviv” in 2014 during the Israel–Gaza conflict in which “they fantasize about bombing the Israeli city of Tel Aviv, razing it to the ground and ‘crushing’ Jews.” The rappers have also attracted attention for their use of anti-Semitic symbolism.
