Putin Laughing Russian Behind Off

Sleepy Joe’s latest brilliant geopolitical chess move has the Russians shaking in their boots. Well, at least shaking their sides in laughter.

U.S., Germany strike a deal to allow completion of controversial Russian Nord Stream 2 pipeline – “Should Russia attempt to use energy as a weapon or commit further aggressive acts against Ukraine, Germany will take action at the national level and press for effective measures at the European level, including sanctions to limit Russian export capabilities to Europe in the energy sector.”

Germany About To Get Its Way

After Russia gets its way, of course. And Sleepy Joe will just sleep right through it.

U.S., Germany to announce deal on Nord Stream 2 pipeline in coming days – The United States and Germany are expected to announce in coming days a deal resolving their long-standing dispute over Russia’s $11 billion Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline, sources familiar with the matter said on Monday.

President Joe Biden and German Chancellor Angela Merkel failed to settle their differences over the undersea pipeline when they met last week, but agreed Moscow must not be allowed to use energy as a weapon against its neighbors.

Nord Stream 2 Not 2 Bad Under Biden

It is European, after all. His national security advisor explains to us now that the company at the center of Russia’s natural gas pipeline is actually Swiss.

Well, thank goodness. Then what was all the fuss about up until now?

Nord Stream 2 AG is indeed based in Switzerland, but the company is owned by Gazprom, a Russian state-owned energy company based in Moscow.

”No amount of spin from the Biden administration will change the reality that Putin’s pipeline is a geopolitical weapon pointed at our allies in Europe,” Barrasso said. “President Biden and his team are desperate to distract from the fact that by not sanctioning them, they have allowed Putin’s pipeline to be locked and loaded.”

Germany Still Explaining To The Banana Republic What To Do Next

To help them with their Russian Nord Stream 2 deal.

The Americans are new to knuckling under with a wave of a feather and still need a lot of coaching.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Tuesday that Germany was cooperating to mitigate effects of major pipeline from Russia after a US decision to waive sanctions drew wide criticism.

President Joe Biden’s administration last month decided not to enforce sanctions against the builder of Nord Stream 2, which will supply energy-hungry Germany, drawing praise from Moscow ahead of his summit with President Vladimir Putin on June 16.

Berlin Instructing Washington On How It Will Get Its Way

But they are doing so in a way that will help create the illusion that the current Banana Republican administration in Washington has something to say in the matter.

Germany, U.S. hold talks in Washington on Nord Stream 2, Berlin says – Germany and the United States are holding talks in Washington to try to resolve a row over the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said on Tuesday…

Russia’s Gazprom (GAZP.MM) and its Western partners are racing to finish the Nord Stream 2 pipeline under the Baltic Sea. The project, now about 95% complete, would bypass Ukraine, potentially depriving it of lucrative transit fees and undermining its struggle against Russian aggression.

Who Would Have Thought That?

That the Banana Republic would let Germany get away with the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

US Spares Ally Germany in Sanctions for Nord Stream Pipeline – The U.S. has battled for years to block the pipeline, now 95% complete, though construction has not yet started on its German leg. The pipeline will carry natural gas from Russia to Germany, increasing Russia’s leverage as a vital energy supplier in Europe. The U.S. argues that the pipeline threatens European energy security, heightens Russia’s influence and poses risks to Ukraine and Poland in bypassing both countries.

“The Nord Stream 2 project is in line with our commitment to strengthen our Transatlantic relationships as a matter of national security.”

Roll Over And Die With Style

It’s as easy as climbing stairs.

Nord Stream 2

The Banana Republic’s Secretary of State may pretend like his country will see to it that Nord Stream 2 isn’t completed but it’s just empty posturing that won’t have any consequences and the Germans know it. Just like Vlad Putin and everybody else.

Germany is pushing for the pipeline’s completion, despite sustained U.S. opposition over more than a decade. The United States fears Russia could use Nord Stream 2 as leverage to weaken EU states by increasing dependency on Moscow.

“President (Joe) Biden has been very clear, he believes the pipeline is a bad idea, bad for Europe, bad for the United States, ultimately it is in contradiction to the EU’s own security goals,” Blinken said as he met NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg.

Nord Stream 2 About To Go South?

With about 100 kilometers left to go?

Nordstream

That would be so beautiful man but something tells me Angie Merkel might just dig in her big heels on this one. If you didn’t already know: Nobody in Europe wants this thing, folks. Nobody except Germany and Russia, so I guess it’s going to happen.

France presses Germany to ditch Nord Stream 2 over Navalny France has urged Germany to scrap a major gas pipeline project — Nord Stream 2 — with Russia. EU members are considering sanctions over the detention of Alexei Navalny and a crackdown against his supporters.

“It’s a decision for Germany, because the pipeline is in Germany.”

But If We Stop Nord Steam 2…

We’ll be agreeing with Donald Trump!

Nord Stream 2: Why Germany may pull plug on Russian pipeline – For the first time since building began almost a decade ago, the future of the pipeline looks threatened.

Ironically, one reason that many Germans support the pipeline is because its greatest critic is US President Donald Trump. He is disliked in Germany and his rants against the pipeline only serve to boost its popularity.

Many voters suspect he wants it scrapped in order to sell American fuel to Germany instead. Mrs Merkel has to avoid the impression that she is giving in to pressure from Mr Trump.

German politicians warn ex-Chancellor Gerhard Schröder to quit Russian posts – CDU and Green politicians have urged Gerhard Schröder to “immediately give up his offices and posts in Russia” over allegations of Russian involvement in the poisoning of Alexei Navalny.

“He should not ignore this, neither politically nor morally.”
