Nearly half of all welfare recipients in Germany are foreigners.

Germany’s center left is on the brink of oblivion – If the Social Democracts don’t want to disappear into the fringes, they have to decide, once and for all, what they stand for and who they represent.
That means to disintegrate.
Klingbeil: Transatlantic relations are currently disintegrating – Federal Finance Minister and Vice Chancellor Klingbeil has described relations with the US as severely damaged.
At an event held by the German Institute for Economic Research, the SPD leader said that transatlantic relations as we know them are currently disintegrating. Klingbeil referred to the US military intervention against Venezuela, the conflict over Greenland, and the US government’s new national security strategy. The Trump administration is making it clear that it wants to dominate the Western Hemisphere and is increasingly turning away from Europe politically and culturally, Klingbeil said.
That means international law.
And international law, as one German commentator so aptly noted, “is the knife-free zone of geopolitics.”
International law applies to everyone, including U.S., says German finance minister (and vice-chancellor).
That means vote of confidence. Which of course means vote of lack of confidence in this case.
Who says Olaf and the SPD can’t bring in the votes?

Scholz also supports more military autonomy of the EU. He called for coordinated procurement of weapons and equipment, the establishment of an EU rapid reaction force by 2025, and for an EU headquarters for European armed forces.

I got Putin wrong, says chastened German President – German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, long an advocate of Western rapprochement with Russia, expressed regret for his earlier stance, saying his years of support for the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline had been a clear mistake.

Germany’s Social Democratic Party (SPD) has moved ahead of Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU) in the polls for the first time in fifteen years.
The SPD was polling at 23% while the CDU was one point behind at 22%, according to figures released on Tuesday by Forsa.
