Tesla Now Building Tanks

Bombastically bureaucratic and terribly touchy about tanks ever since World War II, German authorities will now be fining Tesla for building them at its new car factory near Berlin.

Its planned new car factory near Berlin, I should say.

The environment ministry for Brandenburg, the state that surrounds Berlin and in which the factory will be located, had found that Tesla had constructed tanks on the territory for which it had no authorisation, wrote Tagesspiegel newspaper, which first reported the fine.

The company was banned from using the tanks it had already built, the newspaper added.

It’s Not A Threat

Tesla already has disrupted everything.

Tesla

Tesla’s Factory Threatens To Disrupt German Auto Industry. The Germans are playing catch-up now. Scheiße happens. The innovator always leads.

This is a lucrative business for Tesla. The company made $3.3 billion in the past five years from 11 states in the U.S. that, like the EU, force automakers that can’t meet emissions reduction goals to buy credits from companies like Tesla. But this revenue stream promises to run dry in the coming years as EU automakers ramp up their electric vehicle fleets. But because Tesla’s entire fleet is electric, Birgit Dietze of IG Metall, Germany’s auto workers union, says the company is already ahead of its German competitors.

Cars That Don’t Emit CO2 Doing Irreversible Harm To The Environment

In German Unicorn-Land they can, at least.

Cars

All roads lead to irreversible harm to the environment here. It’s not easy to do these kind of mental mind twists but anybody can do them eventually if you try.

‘He’s a risk-taker’: Germans divided over Elon Musk’s new GigaFactory – The Tesla project will put Grünheide on the map, but some say it is doing ‘irreversible’ harm to the environment.

PS: Germans don’t like risk. How could they like a risk-taker?

German Of The Day: Rodungsstopp

That means to stop the clearing. Of trees, in this case.

Tesla

That this particular Rodungsstopp could also stop the construction of Tesla’s planned Gigafactory in Brandenburg – and what could turn out to  be the livelihood of 12,000 people – doesn’t seem to interest the greener than green politicians who have sought it.

Tesla has been ordered to temporarily halt preparations for a car factory in Germany after environmentalists won a court injunction on Sunday…

Protesters say the factory is a threat to local wildlife and water supplies…

According to local media reports, Tesla has promised to relocate colonies of forest ants, reptiles and bats, and is working with conservationists. Last month, authorities defused seven Second World War bombs discovered at the site.

Tesla currently has two Gigafactories in the US and one in Shanghai, China.

Der Rodungsstopp an der geplanten Tesla-Fabrik in Brandenburg alarmiert die Wirtschaft: Mehrere Verbände warnen vor Konsequenzen für den gesamten Standort Deutschland.
