No More Free Testing?

You mean no more of the free testing taxpayers were already paying “through the nose” for?

Now, instead of having to pay for it, they have to pay for it. What a rotten deal.

Germany to Stop Free COVID-19 Tests – Germany wants to end free coronavirus tests in October, the RND group of newspapers reported on Monday, citing a draft proposal to be discussed by Chancellor Angela Merkel and leaders of the country’s 16 states.

The government made the tests free for all in March to make a gradual return to normal life possible after a lockdown to break a third wave of COVID-19.

But It’s Not A Mandatory Vaccination

Nor is it a mandatory vaccination durch die Hintertür (through the back door).

It’s merely a… I mean, it’s just that… “Vaccinated people in Germany may get more rights.” They may get more rights that they actually already have? How cool is that?! Where can I sign up?

Soon, a trip to the movies, the theater or a restaurant may require proof of vaccination. At least that’s what German Health Minister Jens Spahn wants, but not everyone agrees.

“Those who want to exercise their right to be unreasonable have to take into account that others will want to be protected from them.”

German Of The Day: Impfpflicht

That means mandatory vaccination.

And no, of course there will be no mandatory vaccinations here in Germany, German politicians keep reassuring their subjects. But the lives of those who do not get a coronavirus vaccine will soon be severely restricted. Ain’t no big deal. You’re all having rotten ristricted lives right now already anyway.

Unjabbed Germans face restrictions to avert new Covid wave – Health minister wants restaurants, hairdressers, stadiums and hotels to be off limits to the unvaccinated.

Restaurants, hotels, hairdressers, sport facilities and large gatherings, both outside and in, are among those he has listed as places that would be out of bounds to those who did not fulfil the criteria.

How Generous

Not.

After systematically badmouthing the AstraZeneca vaccine and spooking those in a vaccine-skeptical population who would have otherwise been willing to take it, the German government has now graciously decided to donate the remaining doses of this coronavirus vaccine to less developed countries in August.

AstraZeneca is, after all, developed and used in Brexit England, recently divorced from the German-run European Union.

Most Germans prefer the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine due to concerns over the side effects and efficacy of AstraZeneca.

Mass Corona-Testing Fraud

Everybody’s doing it!

Highly inaacurate for those being tested and highly expensive for the taxpayers (and the taxpayers’ children, and their children, etc.) who are financing it, these tests are at least “free,” if you get my drift.

A number of high-profile cases of fraud, and enduring questions over the accuracy of antigen (also known as lateral-flow) tests, have prompted criticism of health minister Jens Spahn’s scheme for triggering a free-market free-for-all, something Die Welt newspaper called a “testing gold-rush”.

“It’s an absurd system, and very atypical for Germany”, said Matthias Orth, of the Institute of Laboratory Medicine at Stuttgart’s Marienhospital. Earlier this year, Germany’s disease control agency reported that one commonly used antigen test – which only detects Covid-19 cases on days the viral load is highest – had missed 61% of asymptomatic infections at the emergency ward of a Stuttgart’s Katharinenhospital clinic.

“Freedoms For Vaccinated People?”

Are you expecting applause for that? Doesn’t that imply that there will be unfreedoms for those who aren’t vaccinated?

In Germany’s egalitarian society some are are more equal than others, it appears. And it won’t just be here in Germany either, of course.

COVID: Germany presses ahead with freedoms for vaccinated people – The German government has agreed to allow more freedoms for people vaccinated from COVID-19, or those who show resistance after recovering from the disease. The measures could be passed this week.

We’re Doing This For Your Own Good

At least you won’t have to worry about getting COVID-19 once you’re living on the street.

Germany’s Small Business Owners Fight To Survive Amid Fears Of A Wave Of Insolvency – Tens of thousands of German companies in the service, retail and travel industries have teetered on the edge of bankruptcy since the pandemic began.

“Before the second lockdown, I took out credit as a buffer. I’ve managed because of that, but the aid I’m getting is going straight into paying off that debt.”

Now That You Are Part Of The Borg Hive We Will Allow You To Go To The Hairdresser

Hey, wait a minute. The Borg don’t have any hair! There’s some kind of conspiracy going on here, people. I’m telling you.

Bavaria and Berlin ease Covid rules for vaccinated people – A handful of German states have announced they are lifting some Covid restrictions for fully vaccinated people – ahead of the federal government’s schedule.

Bavaria will no longer require people who have received both Covid jabs to get rapid Antigen tests before activities like going to the hairdresser, state premier Markus Söder said on Tuesday.

German Of The Day: Impftouristen

That means vaccination tourists.

Being that the German government is incapable of organizing enough COVID-19 vaccinations for its own citizens, a tour operator is now organizing flights to Russia to get vaccinated with Sputnik V there.

Germans head to Russia for Sputnik V jab – As Germany’s COVID-19 vaccination campaign lags, some Germans are going to Russia for the jab. Though Russia’s borders are mostly closed, the Kremlin seems to be permitting vaccine trips to Moscow for noncitizens.

It’s Not That We Don’t Believe You

It’s just that we don’t believe you.

Merkel

And this in a country with a government that does everything right. How shocking or something.

A large majority of Germans do not believe that Angela Merkel’s government can offer every person willing to be vaccinated a Covid jab by September 21, as promised. According to a survey conducted by the YouGov opinion research institute on behalf of the German press agency DPA, only around one in four (26 percent) expect the target to be met. However, 57 percent do not expect this to happen. And 17 percent did not provide any information…

Some 19 percent see the main responsibility lies with her, 17 percent believe it lies with the European Union and only 11 percent blame the manufacturers of the vaccines.

But 33 percent say all three are equally to blame. And 7 percent see the main responsibility for none of the named. Meanwhile 12 percent did not provide any information.
