Trump will ‘buckle under pressure’ if Europe bands together over tariffs, German economy minister says – U.S. President Donald Trump will “buckle under pressure” and alter his tariff policies if Europe bands together, acting German economy minister Robert Habeck said Thursday.

“That is what I see, that Donald Trump will buckle under pressure, that he corrects his announcements under pressure, but the logical consequence is that he then also needs to feel the pressure,” he said during a press conference.

Germany slashes growth outlook in ‘serious’ diagnosis of Europe’s largest economy – The German government on Wednesday slashed its gross domestic product forecast to just 0.3% growth in 2025.

This is down from a previous forecast of 1.1% growth, but broadly in line with estimates from bodies like the International Monetary Fund.

“The diagnosis is serious,” Robert Habeck, Germany’s Economy and Climate Minister, said during a press conference.

German Fortune 500 companies have announced over 60,000 layoffs this year, but the biggest employee cull is still to come – German companies in the Fortune 500 Europe have announced over 60,000 layoffs this year, in a sign of the country’s ongoing economic malaise that has left manufacturers reeling.

Major German employers, including Bosch, Thyssenkrupp, Deutsche Bahn, and Siemens, have this year announced plans to lay off thousands of workers in a bid to combat falling profits following a rocky post-COVID economic landscape.

Green deception isn’t like normal deception. It’s cleaner. And renewable.

German ministers quizzed over nuclear phase out ‘deception’ – A political magazine alleged that the Economy Ministry hid expert advice supporting the extension of Germany’s remaining nuclear power plants. Two ministers defended their decision to a parliamentary committee.

Cicero magazine reported a day earlier that officials from the environmentally friendly Green Party had acted in a “deceptive” manner by ignoring expert advice and seeking to proceed with the phase-out of nuclear energy, which had been planned since 2011…

Habeck’s viewpoint conflicted with advice from experts who said that nuclear power could help save the use of gas and avoid a power crisis, just as Germany was trying to cut its dependence on Russian energy.

It just keeps getting wackier…

In a video posted online, the Green Party politician also warned that there would be consequences for those who exhibit antisemitic hatred.

In this particular case, the straw that broke the camel’s back is forcing, from on high, real Germans living in their real German world to pay a fortune to install heat pumps so Germany can save the world, I mean planet, once again.
