Police, protesters clash during May Day rallies in Berlin – At least 5,000 protesters took to the streets on Saturday during May Day rallies in Berlin, clashing with police and injuring three officers, police said.

The injuries occurred after some demonstrators threw fireworks, bottles and rocks in protests over social inequality. About 5,600 police were deployed, and some responded with pepper spray in what marked the second May Day protests since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

Similar to the way dissidents in the Banana Republic are labeled racists, fascists, white supremicists, etc. whenever they disagree with what they are force fed on mainstream media, Germans who think differently about their government’s repeatedly failed coronavirus restriction policies (officially sanctioned by German State Media, of course) are labled Nazis. The only difference is that they are then also placed under observation by the country’s Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution. This is their FBI, sort of, although Thought Police seems more appropriate to me.

Bavaria and Berlin ease Covid rules for vaccinated people – A handful of German states have announced they are lifting some Covid restrictions for fully vaccinated people – ahead of the federal government’s schedule.

Bavaria will no longer require people who have received both Covid jabs to get rapid Antigen tests before activities like going to the hairdresser, state premier Markus Söder said on Tuesday.

Chancellor Angela Merkel on Saturday called on Germans to stick to tighter coronavirus restrictions imposed in areas with high infection rates over the weekend, saying the step was needed to break a third wave of infections.

“I am convinced that if we can now manage to reduce infections significantly and quickly, we will be able to relax them step by step in the foreseeable future,” Merkel said.

By 2023 at the latest.
