I’ll Be Home For Christmas

How heartwarming or something.

Heartwarming

Germany brings home ‘Islamic State’ brides, children from Syrian camps – Humanitarian reasons have been cited for flying home several ‘IS’ brides and children from internment in Syria. At the height of the civil war, the women allegedly traveled to join the Islamist militia…

Leonora went to Raqqa, then a IS stronghold, and became the third wife of Martin L., a German in IS’ notorious intelligence network. For a time she held a Yazidi woman and two children as slaves in her apartment until selling them.

“Motivated By Islamic Extremism?”

“Most likely.” It’s not like Islamic extremism is actually responsible itself.

Dresden

Germany: Dresden knife attack likely motivated by Islamic extremism – German police say they have arrested an asylum seeker suspected of killing one person and wounding another in Dresden two weeks ago. Prosecutors are now treating the deadly stabbing as a possible terrorist attack.

German of the day: Herumeiern. To “egg around,” as to walk on eggshells. That is, to pussy-foot (with an emphasis on pussy): To act in a cautious or non-committal way.

German Of The Day: Islamistisch Motiviert

We’ve actually got two today: Islamistisch motiviert and Psychiatrie.

Psycho

Islamistisch motiviert means Islamist motivated and Psychiatrie means psychiatry. You know, Islamist motivated like the attack with the car in Berlin yesterday? And psychiatry as in admitted to psychiatric care like the Islamist who carried it out?

A pattern is developing here. Islamists who regularly do this type of thing in Germany are admitted to psychiatric care while the people who let them in are allowed to continue holding office as if they were sane.

“A religiously motivated background cannot be excluded.”

Well, That Was Like Pulling Zähne

As in teeth. Better late than never, I guess.

Hisbollah

German government bans Hezbollah — Interior Ministry – Authorities have designated Hezbollah a terrorist organization and banned its activity on German soil. Police are currently conducting raids on four associations linked to the Islamist group…

Banning Hezbollah could strain relations between Germany and Iran. However, Iran is dependent on good relations with Germany and the European Union, exemplified most recently by the use of Instex, an EU-Iran trading mechanism designed to skirt US-imposed sanctions and export medical supplies to the pandemic-hit country.

“Police measures are underway in several federal states concurrently. In times of crisis, the rule of law is able to act.”

It’s That German Christmas Feeling

That German Christmas market feeling. That every year at this time of year Christmas market feeling.

Christmas

Holly, wreaths, bells ringing, people screaming, suspicious packages, evacuations, Islamists being arrested…

German police said on Saturday that they had asked visitors to Berlin’s Christmas market at Breitscheidplatz to leave the area after receiving information about suspicious objects.

Beide Männer gehören zur Salafisten-Szene.

German Of The Day: Drecksarbeit

That means dirty work.

Drecksarbeit

You know, like Turkey doesn’t want to do Germany’s dirty work for Germany?

Germany does not yet know the identity of seven people Turkey plans to deport on the grounds that they have fought for the Islamic State militant group, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Monday.

Earlier, Turkey said it would deport seven Germans after state media reported Ankara had begun the repatriation of captured Islamic State militants.

Ankara macht die Ankündigung wahr und hat das erste deutsche Mitglied einer Terrororganisation nach Deutschland abgeschoben.

Let’s Pretend It’s Not

Let’s pretend it’s not what everyone else immediately knows it is. Until we’re forced to admit what it is a few days later, officially. It’s some bizarre new game of hide and seek government officials are playing all across Europe these days.

Terror

Similar to the way French officials behaved after last week’s knifing “incident” in Paris, German officials too now bend over backwards seeking any explanation they can find to explain Monday’s truck “incident” in Limburg – other than the most obvious one. Why is it so hard to admit that you have just witnessed yet another terror attack from someone Angela Merkel inexplicably invited to the country in 2015? Could it be that these authorities have a guilty conscience? Better late than never, I guess.

German authorities are investigating a man who drove a stolen lorry into a line of cars in Limburg in the western state of Hesse, injuring eight people.

The 32-year-old had pulled the driver of the vehicle from his cabin at a red light before using the lorry to plough into eight cars waiting at a light near the town’s central railway station at about 5.20pm (1620 BST) on Monday.

The man, a Syrian national named as Omar AI by the national broadcaster ARD, was arrested at the scene.

“My thoughts are with the injured victims of the accident and their families.”

Adis A.?

Maybe he’s Aris A.’s brother.

Bataclan

Bosnian arrested in Germany in connection with Paris Bataclan attacks – Dresden prosecutors say a Bosnian man linked to the 2015 attacks on the Bataclan nightclub in Paris, is under arrest in Germany’s state of Saxony-Anhalt. An extradition to Belgium is being considered.

Den Namen des Verdächtigen gab die Staatsanwaltschaft mit Adis A. an. Ob auch die internationale Suche wegen der Beteiligung am Terroranschlag mit Waffen zu tun hat, konnte zunächst kein Behördensprecher sagen.

What Harm Could 160 “Islamic State” Combatants Cause?

Hey, see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil and no evil will come to you, right?

ISIS

Germany loses track of 160 ‘Islamic State’ supporters – About 1,000 Germans traveled to the Middle East to join the ‘Islamic State’ after 2013. A third of them have since returned to Germany. Some died on the battlefield, others are in prison, but many appear to be missing.

“In rare cases, these individuals could have succeeded in escaping and/or disappearing.” The ministry stressed it was unlikely IS followers would pass unnoticed in Germany, given “various measures (including wanted lists or entry bans), which make uncontrolled re-entry much more difficult.”

German Of The Day: Moschee

That means mosque. You know, like the one in Berlin Wedding that got raided today for suspected terror financing?

Mosque

Ask Thilo Sarrazin. He’ll tell you why this type of thing comes about.

Police raided a mosque and several other buildings in Berlin on Tuesday morning in an operation into suspected terrorism financing, prosecutors said…

State criminal police, intelligence officers as well as special police forces took part in the raids, which included the As-Sahaba mosque in the Berlin neighborhood of Wedding.

The As-Sahaba mosque is under surveillance by Germany’s domestic intelligence agency and is considered an important meeting point for members of Germany’s radical Salafist scene, according to the Berliner Morgenpost newspaper.

The mosque was founded in 2010 by the German-Egyptian Islamist Reda Seyam, who is accused of taking part in a terror attack in Bali, according to the paper. He later left Germany to travel to Syria to become the “education minister” for the militant “Islamic State” (IS) group.
