Ask Green candidate Annalena Baerbock. She’ll give you a better definition. After copying it out of somebody elses’s book somewhere, that is. Plagiarism is the practice of using or copying someone else’s idea or work and pretending that you thought of it or created it. A plagiarism is an idea or a piece of writing or music that has been secretly copied from someone else’s work. This is a very popular pastime with German politicians these days. A real craze.

US has ‘no better friend’ than Germany, says US top diplomat Antony Blinken – US Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Berlin for talks with German Chancellor Merkel and Foreign Minister Maas. He was eager to impress the importance of good US-German relations.

“I think it’s fair to say that the United States has no better partner, no better friend in the world than Germany.” Fair, maybe. But not true.

Amerika is on its back! I mean, back.

It is European, after all. His national security advisor explains to us now that the company at the center of Russia’s natural gas pipeline is actually Swiss.

Well, thank goodness. Then what was all the fuss about up until now?

Nord Stream 2 AG is indeed based in Switzerland, but the company is owned by Gazprom, a Russian state-owned energy company based in Moscow.

​”No amount of spin from the Biden administration will change the reality that Putin’s pipeline is a geopolitical weapon pointed at our allies in Europe,” Barrasso said. “President Biden and his team are desperate to distract from the fact that by not sanctioning them, they have allowed Putin’s pipeline to be locked and loaded.”

Germany is certainly doing all it can to reach that goal.

No contradiction here. Although Germany’s Middle East policy is, officially, based on a commitment to protect Israel’s right to exist, the Germans continue to, unofficially, do everything they can to help Iran – a country with a mullah regime that denies Israel’s right to exist – develop nuclear weapons. What could be behind that? Other than future economic gain for German companies in Iran, I mean.

Iran nuclear talks restart as Germany urges flexibility – It’s still unclear whether the talks in Vienna will lead to the restoration of the 2015 nuclear deal. The negotiations come as Iran holds presidential elections next week.

That means to fall, plummet, crash.

And as noted repeatedly in the past, that’s what the German Greens love to do, right before any big election comes along. There will be one here in the Fall.

It has become a real tradition with them. Whenever they are doing well in the polls, and they were up until a few weeks ago, they do one or two stupid things to remind the electorate about how clueless they are. Now their numbers are plummeting big time.

Their front woman (it seems the Greens believe it is finally time for Germany to have a woman chancellor) got caught failing to report her 25,000 euro “Corona bonus” to the taxman. Her CV doesn’t stand up to objective scrutiny either. Meanwhile, their resentful male number two has been stumbling around in Ukraine demonstrating to the German voter how naive he is. Or green behind the ears, if you prefer. Bring on the elections! Now. Bitte.

Russia’s Gazprom (GAZP.MM) and its Western partners are racing to finish the Nord Stream 2 pipeline under the Baltic Sea. The project, now about 95% complete, would bypass Ukraine, potentially depriving it of lucrative transit fees and undermining its struggle against Russian aggression.

And they’re not very good at it either. The Germans, this time along with the French, are doing their “friends don’t spy on friends” routine again.

France and Germany are “seeking full clarity” on a report claiming that one of Denmark’s intelligence agencies helped the United States spy on several senior European officials, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Emmanuel Macron said Monday.

That the Banana Republic would let Germany get away with the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

US Spares Ally Germany in Sanctions for Nord Stream Pipeline – The U.S. has battled for years to block the pipeline, now 95% complete, though construction has not yet started on its German leg. The pipeline will carry natural gas from Russia to Germany, increasing Russia’s leverage as a vital energy supplier in Europe. The U.S. argues that the pipeline threatens European energy security, heightens Russia’s influence and poses risks to Ukraine and Poland in bypassing both countries.

“The Nord Stream 2 project is in line with our commitment to strengthen our Transatlantic relationships as a matter of national security.”

Germany on Tuesday pledged 40 million euros ($48.86 million) to ramp up rocket purchase and production for Hamas in Gaza, where more than 52,000 Palestinians have been displaced by the latest Israeli air strikes, according to the U.N.

“Today, we will lobby for a better supply of Iranian rockets in Gaza,” an unidentifiable masked spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry said. “Officially for better humanitarian aid in Gaza, of course, but every child knows where this money always ends up,” he added.
