New Phonetic Spelling Table To Stop German Drive For World Domination

Their next drive, I mean.

Table

I guess you could call this a Wunderwaffe (miracle weapon) of sorts. It would be a miracle if anyone could explain to me how this makes any sense.

Zacharias not Zeppelin: Germany to scrap Nazi-era phonetic table – Communication aid was altered in 1934 because original version was deemed ‘too Jewish.’

The table, in which codewords are assigned to each letter of the alphabet to aid communication and avoid confusion, particularly in radio transmissions and telephone calls, originated in the late 19th century. In 1934 it was adapted by the Nazis who cleansed it of all its Jewish names as part of the regime’s drive to reject all Jews from German life, which culminated in the Holocaust.

German Of The Day: “Das War Was Anderes”

“That was something else,” the woman tells her son. And she’s right. It was not a shooting star.

They are arriving, people. The reptoids. And considering Joe Biden‘s speaking and cognitive difficulties, well…

I’m not sure if he’s their leader or anything (because I’m not sure if he could lead himself out of a paper bag) but he is clearly some form of shape-shifting reptilian alien in semi-human form who wants to help them take control of Planet Earth. I wish someone would, actually, but does it have to be them?

Just Do As The Germans Do And Everything Will Be Fine

COVID-19-wise. It’s good to be the Klassenbeste (top of the class).

Covid

Sure, the number of infections keeps climbing here but at least the German populice is doing as it is told = everything right.

Germany Passes 1 Million Coronavirus Cases As Merkel Warns Of ‘A Tough Winter’ – Germany officially passed 1 million confirmed cases of the coronavirus on Friday as the country’s daily totals remain high through the first month of what the government calls “lockdown light.” Since the beginning of November, schools and most shops have remained open, but bars, gyms and other indoor leisure centers have closed, with restaurants only open for takeaway orders.

On Wednesday, Chancellor Angela Merkel announced the country will have to live with these restrictions through at least Dec. 20.

German Of The Day: Groß

We spell it gross. That means big. Not gross. You know, our gross, as in “a gross exaggeration?”

Merz

That’s what’s calling Friedrich Merz “Germany’s Donald Trump” certainly is. A “hardline conservative” in Germany is a liberal light in US-Amerika.

But having said that, when I read from our friends over at Politico about “A combative old white man who speaks of gays and pedophiles in the same breath, dismisses gender debates as a waste of time and who can’t stand Angela Merkel could hardly be more out of step with the zeitgeist,” I ask myself, what’s not to like about this guy?

German Of The Day: Weihnachtsmärkte

That means Christmas markets. Then there are, of course, Weihnachtsmärkte 2020.

Markets

Spurred on by Chancellor Angela Merkel to come up with a “cohesive, collective answer” on how Germany should try to get the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic in check, state premiers are working on new proposals for the period from December 1…

In the broadest strokes, the restrictions imposed this November are set for an extension for at least three weeks, until December 20.

German Of The Day: Beregnen

Zu beregnen means “to sprinkle.” I also like Sprühnebel. That means “spray mist.”

That’s what Berlin police water cannon do or use against protestors who demonstrate against the government’s COVID rules and regulations. And they just passed a new “protection” act that allows them to bypass Parliament to make additional rules and regulations. The government is apparently upset that the people are upset about this.

As lawmakers in the German parliament voted to amend the country’s Infection Protection Act, which lays out the restrictions aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19, thousands were protesting in the capital, accusing the government of using the law to curtail basic rights and establish a “corona dictatorship.”

German Of The Day: Querdenker

That means “unconventional” thinkers. Or mavericks. Or contrarians, if you prefer.

Querdenker

These include, for instance, the 20,000 protestors in Leipzig who refuse to accept the German government’s Corona party line and are energetically expressing their growing dissatisfaction with the latest lockdown “light.”

“Corona party” (Corona party line) has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?

Nach dem „Querdenker“-Chaos brannten Barrikaden.

German Of The Day: Wunder

That means miracle. As in miraculous.

Voting

You know, like Joe Biden receiving 138,339 votes in an overnight vote-dump in Michigan and Donald Trump not getting one? As in zero?

Then another mysterious all-Biden vote-dump happened in Wisconsin. Biden miraculously overcame a 4.1-point Trump lead in the middle of the night thanks to vote dumps in which he got—you guessed it—100 percent of the votes and Trump got zero.

Now another miracle is taking place in Pennsylvania. In 2020 the Wunder never cease, I guess.

German Of The Day: Gastro-Lockdown

That means gastro lockdown. You know, as in gastronomy lockdown?

Gastro

It’s coming to Germany. Wow, and this in a country that has Corona under control (if you watch American mainstream media news). Angela “we can do it” Merkel will be announcing today and making sure that – take a deep breath now – restaurants, bars, clubs discotheques, pubs, as well as theaters, opera houses, concert houses, whore houses, casinos, amusement parks, film theaters, sport clubs, betting shops, swimming pools and gyms will be closed down for a bit. For our own protection. Not necessarily for the people who work there or own them, of course, but still. It’s a start. And what a whore house and some of the others there have to do with gastronomy I’ll leave up to you.

Otherwise though, everything else can remain open. For now.
