It’s Not Nice To Fool Mother Nature

Or fool with her, I should say. Aka The Empress of Europe. Aka Mutti.

Mother Nature

Get in the sack, Mr. Maasen. Come on, get in the sack. It’s time to sack you. You criticized my choice of words. You suggested I have a hand in Germany’s fake news industrial lying press complex. I don’t have a hand in it. I run the damned thing. It is time for you to go.

Rival political factions have been locked in a bitter war of words ever since Mr Maasen, the head of domestic intelligence service the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) contradicted Mrs Merkel over the veracity of a video appearing to show foreigners being attacked on the streets on Chemnitz by neo-Nazi extremists.

Laut einem Bericht lässt Kanzlerin Merkel Verfassungsschutzchef Maaßen fallen – ohne Rücksicht auf dessen Chef Innenminister Seehofer.

AI Don’t Trust You

But what’s new? Germans don’t trust any new technical development that comes along. Grundsätzlich (out of principle). New is scary because it always comes from somewhere else.

AI

So here’s another piece of news that made the news even though it’s not news at all: A YouGov survey has revealed that Germans are distrustful of anything that has to do with artificial intelligence. Not only is AI new (and from somehwere else), it’s, well, artificial. It’s not natural, you know? Non-organic or something.

That’s A Shocker

Not.

Witch-Hunt

The Head of Germany’s Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (a long name for their spooky spy FBI-type folks), Hans-Georg Maaßen, has had the unmitigated audacity to announce that he has seen no evidence indicating that there was any hounding of refugees going on during the protests in Chemnitz.

He maintains that a video seemingly depicting as much was circulated to distract from the murder that had caused the protests in the first place.

That can’t be, though. That would be fake news. The Germans enjoy state TV. And if it’s not in German state TV, well, it didn’t happen. Or vice versa. Or both. I forget.

German Of The Day: Mudda

That means mother. Actually, it means mama. Like in yo mama. Or like, migration is a Mudda?

Horst Seehofer

Migration ‘mother of all political problems,’ says German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer – The German minister has claimed migration is at the heart of society’s disillusionment with politics. Chancellor Angela Merkel, however, said she would have put it a bit differently and called migration a “challenge.”

German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer, head of the CSU, the conservative sister party of Chancellor Angela Merkel, has said that migration was the “mother of all political problems” in Germany and one of the principal reasons for waning support for the established parties, German media report.

“Many people now associate their social problems with the issue of migration,” he told the Rheinische Post, adding that if Germany didn’t change its migration policy major political parties would continue losing ground.

“Die Migrationsfrage ist die Mutter aller politischen Probleme in diesem Land. Das sage ich seit drei Jahren. Und das bestätigen viele Umfragen.”

Funny How Misunderstandings Like That Can Come About

In the media, I mean.

Chemnitz

Chemnitz update: After his obligatory attack on the AfD during his state government’s official statement on the matter, Saxony’s Minister President Michael Kretschmer also roundly criticized the reports that circulated in the press about riots in Chemnitz. There simply were none.

“There was no mob, there was no witch-hunt, there were no pogroms,” he explained. This was something anybody with any experience here (or anywhere else, for that matter) knew ahead of time. Of course, he didn’t come right out and call them Lügenpresse (the lying press) because he’s a nice guy. But still.

“Es gab keinen Mob, es gab keine Hetzjagd, es gab keine Pogrome.”

Another German Initiative Bites The Dust

Although they moan the loudest about it, Germans and other vocal continental moaners have finally succeeded in doing away with that awful, terrible and truly horrible daylight savings time nonsense – an idea that they introduced in the first place.

Time

The German Empire and Austria-Hungary organized the first nationwide implementation, starting on April 30, 1916. Many countries have used it at various times since then, particularly since the energy crisis of the 1970s.

A European Union online survey has concluded that a vast majority of the bloc’s citizens are against switching between summer and winter time. All signs point towards the EU now putting a stop to changing the clocks.

More than 80% of respondents to the largest online survey in EU history are in favour of abolishing changing the clocks in summer and winter, German newspaper Westfalenpost reports, citing well-informed sources in Brussels.

PS: Of the roughly five million Europeans who actually took part on the online survey over three million of them were German.

Not One

Not one balanced, objective review anywhere. Much less a friendly one. Everything negative and hysterical, as usual. But that was to be expected before this book was even published.

Sarrazin

Thilo Sarrazin, the man German Gutmenschen (do-gooders) absolutely love to hate (and he’s SPD, for crying out loud), has done it again. His latest book, entitled Hostile Takeover, is another attack on Islam in Germany. Needless to say, everyone is enraged and outraged and every other kind of rage there is to be about it.

To sum it up (according to the article I linked to) he maintains: Islam is a backward religion incapable of reform, inherently violent (the step from Muslim believer to Islamist terrorist being merely one of degree), intolerant and xenophobic and that the Muslims in Germany are openly attempting to out-populate the Germans, which of course isn’t terribly hard to do. So… Where’s the controversial part of this book that everybody is all upset about? I mean, what if any of this didn’t we already know?

Next Time You Go Undercover Tell Them You’re A Cop First

And behave with a little more dignity while taking part in violent demonstrations, will you?

Cop

The German justice minister (SPD) is upset that an undercover cop who had infiltrated the Pegida movement in Saxony was doing such a good job at being a right-wing prick that he hassled a camera man from the state broadcaster ZDF and caused uniformed cops to demand the camera man’s papers, preventing him and his other journalist buddies from doing their work.

Sheesh. Can’t anybody take a joke these days? Ain’t no big deal. I think I saw Laurel and Hardy do this once.

“What happened in Saxony is deeply worrying and needs to be urgently and comprehensively investigated.”

PS: They should have seen right off that he was an undercover cop because of that big pixel thingy on his face. Dumb ass journalists.

The Next Level Of Degradation Has Been Reached

Starting next year, Miss Germany contestents will no longer be allowed to wear bikinis. They’re going to march them out there completely naked, I guess.

Bikini

No, wait. It’s even worse than I thought! Instead of bikinis they’re only going to let them wear something called “Sommer-Outfits.” How awful. Awful sounding, I mean. I don’t know what a summer outfit is but I doubt if it tops a bikini.

When is this madness ever going to end? Just because the Miss Germany political correctors suddenly “want to emphasize the personality of Miss Germany” (and blindly follow whatever American political correctors do) doesn’t mean they have the right to spoil the fun for all the young women taking part. And who says their personalities are anybody else’s business anyway? Ever hear of data security? I’m going to “set a signal” and boycott this year’s show.

Just Like That Japanese Reactor

Not quite as dramatic, granted, but just like how Fukushima took down the nuclear power industry in Germany, all it takes is a collapsed highway bridge in Italy to suddenly put Germany’s bridge infrastructure in full tilt crisis mode. You gotta worry about something, after all.

Bridges

The latest reminder of the risks of aging infrastructure came Tuesday, when a highway bridge in Italy collapsed, killing at least 35 people. Germany is also exposed. Its once-envied network of roads, bridges and railways are decaying due to decades of underspending. The country has fallen to 15th in road quality behind Oman and Portugal, according to the World Economic Forum’s competitiveness rankings.

Autobahnbrücken in Deutschland – Jede achte Brücke in schlechtem Zustand.
