I don’t think Indian students deserve this

They didn’t do anything wrong.

Why can’t we just learn to live in peace?

Germany targets Indian students to address labor shortages – Germany looks to tap into international student talent to keep its engineering and IT sectors afloat.

Germany is grappling with a critical labor shortage and aging population, with projections indicating a deficit of seven million skilled workers by 2035.

With some 700,000 vacancies currently unfilled, Germany’s economic growth potential has dropped to about 0.7% now from around 2% in the 1980s, and is set to fall further to 0.5% if the country fails to resolve this problem, German Economy Minister Robert Habeck has said, stressing the importance of migration in bridging this widening gap.

Engaging Germany’s Indian student population in the workforce may be part of the solution.

Spring is in the air!

I love the smell of CO2 in the morning.

Snowstorms cause havoc on German motorways – Drivers with summer tires were stuck due to 10cm snowfall.

Snowstorms in Germany’s Bavaria region caused havoc on motorways on Sunday morning.

10cm of snow caused problems for many drivers who had switched to summer tyres, leaving them slipping or stuck.

The A9 motorway between Bayreuth and Pegnitz was particularly affected.

No asylum for you!

You’re a European, after all.

And we have too many of those.

Germany: No asylum for Russian draft dodgers?

German authorities say that men coming to Germany from Russia to avoid being enlisted in the army are not at risk of persecution if they return to Russia.

“We are expected to speak out and be more politically active, and then we are denied asylum. According to several articles of the law in Russia, we can be thrown into jail just for taking part in protests here.”

But in social media it says that the Palestinians are starving

So it must be true.

Enjoying a nice day at the beach doesn’t mean you’re not starving, after all. Right?

‘We’re not like the Nazis’: Netanyahu said to chide German FM on Gaza ‘famine’ remark – heated exchange reportedly occurs after Annalena Baerbock charges Israel pushing Gaza toward starvation; Germany complains about ‘distorted’ leaks

“Come and see the pictures of the markets in Gaza, the beaches in Gaza, there’s no famine there.”

I can’t stand it…

I know you planned it.

What could it be? It’s a mirage. You’re scheming on a thing, that’s sabotage!

German police arrest two suspected of spying for Russia – German police have arrested two men on suspicion of spying for Russia. The German-Russian nationals are accused of acting as agents for sabotage purposes.

Lots of us take Pervitin too

Or at least that’s what they used to call it.

We don’t all smoke weed in Germany, Scholz assures Chinese students – Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Monday reassured Chinese students in Shanghai that they did not have to smoke cannabis if they studied in Germany and that Germany had legalised cannabis hoping that consumption would go down.

Scholz made the comments in response to a question from a student at Tongji University, who asked whether he would have to smoke cannabis if he studied in Germany, as the drug was not legal in China.

The urge to urge

Urged once again. Due to the urgency, I guess.

Well, I’m sure this urge will finally do the trick.

German chancellor urges Chinese industry bosses to play fair in EU market – Olaf Scholz says European cars should have equal access to Chinese customers.

“The only thing that always needs to be clear is that the competition is fair,” he said during a discussion with students at Tongji University in Shanghai. “That means there can be no dumping, no overproduction and that intellectual property rights are not violated,” he said.

“Expressing understanding”

He was the author of a January essay that expressed understanding for the Hamas militants who carried out the deadly October 7 raid in Israel that sparked the ongoing Israel-Hamas war in Gaza.

Then understand this.

German police shut down pro-Palestinian conference – Police in the German capital, Berlin, have stopped an event expressing solidarity with Palestinians amid the Gaza war. Authorities said they were concerned over potential antisemitic remarks and glorified violence.

German of the day: Unwahrscheinlich

That means unlikely. As in “a recovery of German industry to the level before the war in Ukraine is unlikely.”

Go Green, go… lean.

Germany set to permanently pay for reliance on Russian gas—as power chief says ‘significant structural demand destruction’ means it will never fully recover from energy crisis.

German industry got rich, thanks partly to its close energy trading relationship with political and economic rival Russia. The past few years have shown just how misguided that relationship was, as Russia invaded Ukraine and cut off Germany’s cheap, vital gas supply.

Now, one of Germany’s leading renewable-power bosses has suggested it’s a mistake the country could rue forever, as the fallout from the energy crisis is set to permanently damage its industry.

“Art is what you can get away with”

And this guy didn’t get away with it.

But nice try anyway.

German gallery fires employee for hanging own art in exhibition – A modern art gallery in Germany has fired an employee after discovering the budding artist had hung his own work in an exhibition.

The 51-year-old man had drilled two holes in a wall to mount his painting in Munich’s Pinakothek der Moderne.
