Is this German humor? In a British tabloid?

“Will Germany’s effective Covid strategy work again as it enters a second wave?” It didn’t work the first time, folks (they’re up to 7,000+ new infections a day now, and climbing). Even though the Germans, as Klassenbeste (best in class), did everything right. Right? Face masks, social distancing, etc.

It could almost make one think that these face masks don’t help.

“The first wave taught us that if politicians and scientists work together, they have more chance of beating this virus.”

This is a real German dilemma. How do you gracefully call in sick to stay home when you’re already home playing sick in the first place? OK, to avoid being sick. But still.

Coronavirus: Fewer Germans call in sick during pandemic – With many avoiding the doctor’s office and working from home during the coronavirus pandemic, the number of German workers reporting in sick has fallen to below average levels.

“After a record high at the end of March, the number of sick employees insured by TK dropped to a below-average level.”

PS: And this at a time when other folks refuse to call in sick when maybe they ought of sort of should.

German doctor accused of masterminding network admits to ‘hobby’ doping – A German doctor accused of masterminding an international blood-doping network dismantled last year admitted on Tuesday to helping athletes undergo transfusions to boost performance.

In a statement read by his lawyers, sports physician Mark Schmidt said he had started to aid individuals in 2012 but refrained from disclosing specific names.

He claimed he made no financial profit from the process but asked for 5,000 euros ($5,852) a year for his services and also asked for result-based bonuses.

“In the end I never made money from it, I always saw it as a hobby.”

“Politicians outraged about right-wing extremist protestors.” Well, the first part is true. But what they’re really outraged about is how the German sheeple aren’t being sheeple enough. This is inconveniencing them. State and leftist-controlled media outlets will take care of that, however. If you don’t read what we have to say about it (follow the Party line), it didn’t happen.

Tens of thousands of protesters occupied the center of the German capital for the second time in a month on Saturday, denouncing pandemic restrictions in defiance of governments that are battling a resurgence of infections.

Berlin authorities said some 35,000 to 38,000 demonstrators from Germany and elsewhere in Europe gathered throughout the day. In the early afternoon police broke up a march through Berlin’s Mitte district after tens of thousands of protesters disregarded safety measures.

Berlin bans large weekend protests against coronavirus restrictions, citing health grounds – The city government of Berlin has called off several planned weekend protests, the largest of which on Saturday expected to draw 20,000 people or more. The organizers plan to challenge the move in court.

Anyone who does not conform to the red-redder-green party line is immediately labeled a right-wing extremist. Works every time.

German Of The Day: Islamistisch Motiviert

We’ve actually got two today: Islamistisch motiviert and Psychiatrie.

Islamistisch motiviert means Islamist motivated and Psychiatrie means psychiatry. You know, Islamist motivated like the attack with the car in Berlin yesterday? And psychiatry as in admitted to psychiatric care like the Islamist who carried it out?

A pattern is developing here. Islamists who regularly do this type of thing in Germany are admitted to psychiatric care while the people who let them in are allowed to continue holding office as if they were sane.

Why should they trust them any more now? Should a vaccination against COVID-19 ever be available, I mean.

According to a French online survey of parents in five European countries, Germany has a relatively high proportion of people who refuse vaccinations, when compared with the other nations; nearly 3% absolutely refuse to have their children vaccinated. The German Federal Center for Health Education (BZgA) says that around 20% of the population is skeptical when it comes to vaccines…

Unlike in some EU countries, in Germany it has always been up to the individual whether they want to get a recommended vaccine.
