It’s Not Just US-Amerikaner Who Break The Rules

When it comes to holding free and fair elections, for example.

Rules

Germany rocks in the Dishonesty Department too. In other areasy maybe. But still.

Germany is now the biggest breaker of EU rules, according to new statistics on enforcement actions started by Brussels against member states.

The figures come despite the country’s leading role in the European project and claims from some quarters that Angela Merkel’s government dominates proceedings in the bloc.

Numbers provided to German newspaper Handelsblatt by the country’s economics ministry show the country’s government is subject to 74 infringement proceedings by the European Commission for failing to implement EU regulations properly in German law.

German Green party politician Markus Tressel told the newspaper Germany was now “bottom of the class” for following EU rules and far from the “model pupil” it was sometimes portrayed as.

Germany Still Doing Everything Right

In its fight against COVID-19. So remember, US-Amerika, you can learn from Germany too.

Corona

Germany was held up as an example of how to do the pandemic. Now it’s struggling.

Coronavirus: German ICUs see 40% more patients than in April – Intensive care units (ICU) at some German hospitals are reaching full capacity with seriously ill COVID-19 patients, the country’s hospital federation said. A high percentage of nurses are off sick or in quarantine.

“We clearly reject the accusation of alarmism.”

New Phonetic Spelling Table To Stop German Drive For World Domination

Their next drive, I mean.

Table

I guess you could call this a Wunderwaffe (miracle weapon) of sorts. It would be a miracle if anyone could explain to me how this makes any sense.

Zacharias not Zeppelin: Germany to scrap Nazi-era phonetic table – Communication aid was altered in 1934 because original version was deemed ‘too Jewish.’

The table, in which codewords are assigned to each letter of the alphabet to aid communication and avoid confusion, particularly in radio transmissions and telephone calls, originated in the late 19th century. In 1934 it was adapted by the Nazis who cleansed it of all its Jewish names as part of the regime’s drive to reject all Jews from German life, which culminated in the Holocaust.

German Of The Day: Beregnen

Zu beregnen means “to sprinkle.” I also like Sprühnebel. That means “spray mist.”

That’s what Berlin police water cannon do or use against protestors who demonstrate against the government’s COVID rules and regulations. And they just passed a new “protection” act that allows them to bypass Parliament to make additional rules and regulations. The government is apparently upset that the people are upset about this.

As lawmakers in the German parliament voted to amend the country’s Infection Protection Act, which lays out the restrictions aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19, thousands were protesting in the capital, accusing the government of using the law to curtail basic rights and establish a “corona dictatorship.”

Germany On A “Fresh High”

A fresh coronavirus high of 20,000. The Germans are still high on their last coronavirus high (thinking that their restrictions will get this under control), but still.

Corona

New cases in Germany climbed to a fresh high, while unprecedented numbers of Covid-19 patients are in intensive care in Belgium…

Germany registered a record increase in new cases, days after the government imposed the toughest restrictions since a national lockdown in the spring.

Europe’s biggest economy had 31,480 new infections in the 24 hours through Thursday morning, bringing the total to 608,611, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. The figures have fluctuated wildly in recent weeks, with daily infections falling to the lowest in almost two weeks on Wednesday.

We Can Do It!

Again. I mean, we can’t do it again. But still. We will.

Merkel

The first “heavy” Corona lockdown didn’t work back in March so we’ll try a “lockdown light” now. Makes sense to me. If you ask her. But that’s only because she’s been in power since Christ was a corporal and lost all touch with reality long ago. Well, at least since 2015.

Chancellor Angela Merkel appealed to Germans to obey expansive new restrictions throughout November, holding out the prospect of more freedom in the run-up to Christmas if the second coronavirus wave is pushed back.

“If we stick it out for one month, that can be a barrier in this second wave.”

“They should have shown more humility”

DER SPIEGEL: Humility?

America

Sandel: Yes. Think of Hillary Clinton’s use of the word “deplorables.” She used it in the last election campaign in reference to Trump voters, blue-collar workers. It showed an arrogance toward the less educated. Obama spoke of people who “cling to guns or religion…”

Sandel: It is true that the Democrats have repeatedly made this promise with good intentions: to show people a way out of the inequality that has worsened as a result of globalization. They emphasize university education as the avenue for upward mobility. But this leaves out over half of the population.

“The Democratic Party opened the way for Trump.”

Of All The Words Of Mice And Men

And German chancellors, the saddest are “We can do this!”

Merkel

Just kidding. They’re actually “What the hell were you thinking?”

And if you believe those numbers up there (another state-run agency), you can’t be helped either.

“We can do this!” — Merkel’s famous words five years on – It’s five years to the day since German Chancellor Angela Merkel uttered her famous quote about taking in refugees. Today the numbers show that integration has made progress, though skepticism persists.

35,000 To 38,000 Right-Wing Extremists In One Place?

Or even more? Wow, that’s a lot. That’s even, I dunno, hard to believe.

Berlin

Politicians outraged about right-wing extremist protestors.” Well, the first part is true. But what they’re really outraged about is how the German sheeple aren’t being sheeple enough. This is inconveniencing them. State and leftist-controlled media outlets will take care of that, however. If you don’t read what we have to say about it (follow the Party line), it didn’t happen.

Tens of thousands of protesters occupied the center of the German capital for the second time in a month on Saturday, denouncing pandemic restrictions in defiance of governments that are battling a resurgence of infections.

Berlin authorities said some 35,000 to 38,000 demonstrators from Germany and elsewhere in Europe gathered throughout the day. In the early afternoon police broke up a march through Berlin’s Mitte district after tens of thousands of protesters disregarded safety measures.

Achieved?

Germany has took on more than it can handle. And is continuing to do so (400+ per day). That’s what it has achieved.

Germany

Germany: Five years after the refugee crisis, what’s been achieved? – Five years ago, as hundreds of thousands of refugees came to Germany, Chancellor Angela Merkel maintained: “We can do it.” How has Germany — and those who sought asylum — managed since then?

…The initial “welcome culture” that Merkel advocated dissipated on New Year’s Eve 2015/16, when women were assaulted by migrants in Cologne’s main railway station.

And then came the Berlin terror attack, foiled terror attacks, all the other crime, disappointment and daily conflicts the German media does its best to ignore. And most Germans just keep on pretending that none of this is really happening. Why? Because Germany is a Moral Superpower? Are Germans that good at denial (see WWII and Communist East Germany)? Maybe it isn’t really happening. If you don’t see it in the news and no one is allowed to express an uncomfortable opinion or inconvenient truth about it maybe it didn’t happen, right? You don’t even need a Big Brother in Germany. Everybody does this voluntarily.
