Ha, Ha, Ha
“Few Germans afraid of coronavirus?” They “feel the country’s health officials have the situation under control?”
Which Germany are you referring to? Talk about fake news – brought to you tonight from German state TV channel ARD. Please remember this when you read up on Germany and the coronavirus again in a few weeks. You’ll be surprised to see how quickly and abruptly the rosy numbers they are publishing here can change.
Few Germans afraid of coronavirus – Most Germans are not overly worried about the coronavirus outbreak and feel the country’s health officials have the situation under control. But they’re more divided on accepting refugees and Germany’s political makeup.
The Tweets They Are a-Changin’
Sooner or later reality raises its ugly little head.
“We need orderly conditions at the EU’s external border,” one tweet from the German interior ministry in Arabic, Farsi, English and German went.
Another one was “We will use our best efforts to support Greece in achieving this. Europe’s borders are not open for #refugees from #Turkey, and neither are our German borders.”
The German government – anxious about the political consequences of a “repeat of 2015” – is tolerating Greece’s decision to suspend asylum claims at its borders and has launched a social media campaign to deter Syrian refugees from embarking on a journey to central Europe.
“We don’t want a repeat of the year 2015.”
Where’s Angela Merkel been hiding out these days?
German Of The Day: Reiche Erschießen
That means “shoot the rich.”
Nothing new, of course. But it is kind of odd that we are hearing this suggestion TODAY and that it’s coming from a member of a “harmless” political party German voters routinely turn a blind eye to – a blind left eye, by the way: The Left Party. You know, the successor party of the East German Communist SED? It is currently forming state governments all over the Mystical German East as we speak, by the way.
“The energy turnaround is also necessary after a revolution. And even after we’ve shot that one percent of the rich it will still be the case that we will need to heat our homes, that we will need a means of transportation.”
“Energiewende ist auch nötig nach einer Revolution. Und auch wenn wir das eine Prozent der Reichen erschossen haben, ist es immer noch so, dass wir heizen wollen, wir wollen uns fortbewegen.”
What Is Germany Doing?
Hiding, of course.
You know. Once burned twice shy and all that?
Migrants stuck on EU doorstep: What is Germany doing? – Turkish President Erdogan has effectively scrapped the refugee accord with the EU, threatening that millions will come. Refugees are appealing to Merkel for help, but Berlin remains firm that the EU’s borders are closed.
Some refugees hold signs asking for help from German Chancellor Angela Merkel. After all, the chancellor rescued refugees in Hungary from a similar situation by letting them come to Germany. Refugees on the border with Greece are now hoping for the same.
But Germany in 2020 is not the country it was in 2015. Looking back, Merkel acknowledges there was a “loss of control.” The chancellor has since described the open borders that allowed hundreds of thousands of people to pour into the country as a “mistake” that should not be repeated.
German Of The Day: Hamsterkauf
“Hamster buying” means hoarding or panic buying.
You know. Like in oh my God we’re all gonna die?
Germans taking part in coronavirus panic-hoarding are doing a “Hamsterkauf” – There are even empty supermarket shelves in Germany amid the coronavirus outbreak, and of course there’s a German word to describe the act of panic hoarding.
The word Hamsterkauf, a noun made up of [the German words for] “hoarding” (hamstern) and “buy” (kaufen) has been trending on social media as people share photos of store shelves cleared out of food and other household items. The word “hamstern” comes from the hamster, which stores food in its cheeks.
German Of The Day: Untergetaucht
That means submerged, disappeared.
Somebody explain the logic to me because I just don’t understand. So, the same emotion-driven woman (& Co.) who, driven by “we can do it” empathy, opened up the flood gates in 2015 amid wild cheers of refugee-welcoming Gutmensch-Germans for the very same people now forcing their way into Europe under the very same conditions today ist untergetaucht – has submerged like a German sub?
Does this mean that she and the other Gutmenschen are tacitly admitting that her decision in 2015 was a mistake?
If not, then why doesn’t she make another welcome pronouncement? Maybe this time she’s too busy because she’s organizing an airlift to fly them directly to Berlin?
About 13,000 migrants have gathered along the 212-kilometer (125-mile) border between Turkey and Greece after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan threatened to allow refugees to cross into Europe, the United Nations said on Saturday.

This Could Never Have Happened To Us
As reported earlier…
The enlightened left (in this case Berlin’s “red-redder-green” city government) are routinely shocked to discover that historical figures fail to meet their current level of enlightened leftist consciousness and so must scorn their memory with puritanical outbursts of intoxicating guilt and self-righteous moral outrage.
This could have never happened to them, in other words. They’ve got Stalinists in their own government right now but it could never happen to them.
Berlin strips Hitler kingmaker Paul von Hindenburg of honorary citizenship – Berlin city-state has rescinded honorary citizenship for Paul von Hindenburg. In 1933, the German Weimar-era general-turned president named Adolf Hitler as chancellor, giving him powers for his 12-year Nazi dictatorship.
“Complete Neutrality Outweighs Religious Freedom”
Uh-oh. The Brain Police let this one get through. We’re going to get letters.
Muslim law clerks CAN be ordered to remove head scarfs in court because ‘complete neutrality’ outweighs religious freedom, German judges rule – Judges in Germany have told a Muslim law clerk that she can be prevented from wearing a head scarf during court proceedings.
Germany’s highest bench, the Federal Constitutional Court, ruled that the judiciary’s obligation to complete neutrality outweighed her freedom of religion rights…
Civil servants and police officers have already been banned from wearing the niqab, burka or hijab or any religious symbol, but this has not previously extended to members of the public.
